Benefits of the
Universal Protection Program
Peace
of Mind - Automatic, periodic
inspection, lubricating, adjusting and cleaning
of your water heater and fixtures keeps them
operating at peak trouble-free efficiency. Potential
problems are spotted before they cause trouble.
Preferred Treatment
- UPP increases your plumbing reliability, but
should you need service, your UPP entitles you
to preferential treatment.
Discounted Pricing
- Only Universal Protection Plan members automatically
receive the "Value Rate" a lower rate
in our "Investment Guide Book".
Annual Inspections
- We will perform one free inspection and safety
check during the anniversary month of your renewal
period. Potential problems will be identified
before they cause trouble. If during the annual
inspection we find any repairs that need to
be done, we will provide you with a proposal
to make the repairs.
YOUR
INSPECTION WILL INCLUDE:
Safety Check
- Your service technician will walk through
your home, inspecting the plumbing system; tighten
any loose handle or packing nut during the inspection
process. All the emergency shut-off valves under
the sinks, toilets, water heater and your main
water shut-off, will be tested to insure they
operate in case of an emergency. Gas connectors
will be inspected visually as well as any exposed
piping. You will be shown where the main shut-off
valve for your water and gas piping are located.
Water Heater
- Your service technician will clean the burner
assembly on your gas water heater, visually
check the Temperature and Pressure relief valve
for safe operation and free of corrosion. Check
the vent assembly for carbon monoxide leakage.
If electric, check the thermostat settings and
readjust. Drain the water heater and clear the
tank of sediment. Insure the water heater is
operating at its peak efficiency as per the
manufacturers specifications.
Water Pressure
Regulator - Your service technician
will check the water pressure on the incoming
water service line and make any necessary adjustments
to your regulator. High water pressure will
damage your water heater and other plumbing
fixtures and could cause a pipe to burst in
the plumbing system.
Faucets
- Your service technician will check all of
the faucets in your home for leaks and corrosion.
We will visually check (without removing them)
the stems, cartridges, and rubber seals for
ease of operation and clean the aerators on
all of the faucets throughout your home for
proper water flow.
Toilets
- Your service technician will inspect your
toilet bowl and tank for leaks and proper flushing
action. We will check the water-measuring device
for proper operation along with the flapper
or tank ball for proper water seal. The float
ball, overflow and any linkage will be adjusted
to manufacturers specifications.
